2019 Outreach Tour

The HRO believes that global experiences should always be accessible for all musicians.

Tour is truly a special time for HRO musicians to bond with fellow orchestra members, reflect on the importance of music, and, most of all, develop cultural sensitivity and learn from our peers overseas. However, not all HRO musicians are in the financial position to cover the cost of traveling abroad. If you would like to support our mission to make tour possible for all HRO members regardless of financial background, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra.

There are several ways you can donate:

  1. Mail a check, payable to Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra, to:

    Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra

    Music Building

  1. Fundación San Felipe

Fundación San Felipe provides underprivileged youth in the Old City with the education and skills they need to seek out opportunities and expand their horizons. Proceeds from HRO’s concert on June 3 will benefit Fundación San Felipe.

  2. Casita de Mausi

Casita de Mausi provides housing and other accommodations for families of cancer patients who must stay long-term in Panama City, away from home, to undergo treatment. Proceeds from HRO’s concert on June 3 will benefit Casita de Mausi.

  3. Balboa Academy and RISE

Through an interactive workshop and presentation, HRO will introduce middle and high school students from at-risk schools to the concept of an orchestra and the roles of the conductor and musicians. Peer mentors from Balboa Academy’s RISE program visit at-risk schools on a weekly basis to teach younger students English and interact with them.

  4. Autonomous University of Chiriquí

Located in the province of Chiriquí, Boquete is a beautiful mountain town and home to one of the campuses of the Autonomous University of Chiriquí (UNACHI). In Boquete, HRO will team up with UNACHI’s emerging orchestra program to bring the wonders of the symphony to indigenous youth and members of the community.

David, Panama

Orchestra members will participate in rich cultural exchanges through an informal workshop with an indigenous cultural organization.
